Calling myself out here, but not everyone has their life together enough to put their clothes in dressers. So now you can have dresser functionality from various decorative clothes and hampers. The pile of clothes is perfect for slob sims and the hampers are good for lazy ones! The folded clothes are useful if you don’t have a lot of space but want dresser functionality.
These are overrides that will replace the décor-only versions, but they will continue to appear in all the same categories plus now appearing in the Dressers category. The tuning on most of these is technically custom but it’s really just the normal dresser tuning with things that don’t make sense removed (like cat scratching). It shouldn’t conflict with anything unless you have something else that happens to modify these objects specifically, but please let me know if you have any problems with it.

Future Plans
- If you know of an item I missed let me know
Patch Notes
- Removed objects that have been moved to their own mods: Should Have Been: Dresser & Should Have Been: Hanging Dressers
- Removed the Eco Lifestyle hamper that looks like it's just pillows. Not sure what I was thinking when I included that
- Added objects from High School Years
- Made sure all objects show up in dressers to make them easier to find
- Removed clothes from Clutter to clean up that category a bit
- I've realized that having Separate, Merged, and Merged by pack was probably confusing so I’m be slowly updating all my mods to use a new structure.
- So that means that starting with v1.5 the Separate download has been discontinued.
- Now there are two downloads: Merged and ByPack.
- Merged contains all objects in one file.
- ByPack contains a TUNING file and one file per pack. You can pick and choose the packs you have/want
- Each download also contains a file explaining this.
- Please delete any old versions of this mod when updating because things have been removed and renamed and may not overwrite the old files.
- Changed the tall Basegame hamper and the City Living suitcases to use my tuning instead of the default dresser. I realized that they don’t have a state for the cat scratching even if it makes more sense for cats to be able to scratch them
- Changed City Living abbreviation from CL to CTY because I realized the possible confusion with Cottage Living. If you have these installed separately or by pack make sure to delete the old files because the new ones won’t overwrite them.
- Completely recreated the short Basegame hamper only to realize that the reason it was giving me trouble was a mod conflict that I never considered from something that was outdated anyway. Ignore my past complaints about it. It’s fine.
- Moved the merged pack files into a subfolder in the zip. Should make it easier to just delete them if you only want the full merged version.
- Started adding version numbers to the zip files. I should have done this and the folder sooner, but I’m still figuring out how I want to organize things.
- Tried again to fix the one basegame hamper. I don’t know what its issue is. Next step is to start it from scratch.
- Reorganized the files because I realized it was overkill. The “Merged” file contains both a file with all the dressers and a version separated by pack so you can get only what you want. The “Separate” file is exactly what it sounds like: each dresser separate with a required TUNING file.
- Added Basegame hanging clothes as dressers
- Added the Basegame hamper that was giving me problems. Please note that the short hamper works fine for EA interactions but isn’t behaving the same as others when it comes to mods that add interactions (noticeable in the images). I’ll try to find a fix, but at least it will work for normal use. Edit 8/24: I’ve also noticed that it doesn’t seem to be categorizing correctly for me either. It’s a work in progress.
- Reorganized some files to have less duplicated tuning. Please note that if you download the Separate files that means the TUNING file is required
- Fixed my stupid spelling mistake in filenames as descriptions
- Added hampers so your sims can live out of them (like I do). This does not include Laundry Day hampers since they already have a purpose, but it has Basegame, Parenthood, and Eco Living hampers.
- Included a bonus City Living item that isn’t technically decor, clothing, or a hamper, but I thought it fit. The suitcase end table is now also a dresser!
- Added options to download by expansion pack. I also renamed some files so if you redownload you can delete the old ones (although it shouldn’t cause any problems if you forget)
- There is one more Basegame hamper I want to add but it’s giving me trouble so it will come in a future update.
After seeing the hanging clothes as dressers in Dream Home Decorator I decided that these other clothes should function as dressers too. The pile of clothes is perfect for slob sims and the hampers are good for lazy ones! The folded clothes are useful if you don’t have a lot of space but want dresser functionality.
