Decor with a Purpose: Useful Hand Soap

• Bienchen's Pimples Mod - When you install this mod you need to put it in the same folder as Bienchen's mod and do not rename either of them. This will ensure that the tuning loads in the correct order.

• The Bathroom Clutter Kits object isn't searchable by "Ilex" like most of my objects. S4S strings were giving me trouble. I'll fix it when I'm able.

• Adjusted tags for consistency (yes this probably reverts past changes but you've probably realized by now how fleeting my decisions are)
• This isn't an update you need to rush to get. It's maintenance and improvements.

• Added soap pump from Bathroom Clutter Kit
• Removed Snowy Escape soap pump. I'm moving this over to the my Functional Shower Supplies mod because I've decided it fits better there. The object won't disappear from your builds since it's an override.
• Removed custom thumbnails to bring down file size and save myself some work going forward
• Restructured the mod so that there's only one version plus an addon.
• The base version of the mod is passive and compatible with Bienchen's Pimples Mod.
• If you want interactions when clicking on the objects, there's an addon for that.
• IMPORTANT: Delete all old versions because things have been renamed.

• Added shelf from Get to Work. Not only does it have hand soap functionality, but it also now has a bigger slot to be more useful as a surface.

• Edited the buff to use a better name rather than borrowing from EA’s upgrade one. I did forget to update that screenshot, but I’ll get to it eventually.
• Added a new version for compatibility with Bienchen’s Pimples Mod. For best results place this version in the same folder as Bienchen’s mod and do not rename either file. Please read the Compatibility and Downloads details to make sure you use the version you want and install it correctly.
• Added an interactive option by request. If you didn’t like the passive nature of this mod you can now click to get soap before washing your hands instead of using it passively. Sims will not do this when they wash their hands autonomously, but you can make them do it when controlling them. Please read the Downloads details to make sure you use the version you want.

• Added French translation from Vanessa Sims

• Fixed a bug where sims could get both my buff and the upgrade buff. Now if the sink is upgraded they will no longer get a buff from the soap dispenser object.
• I realized that having Separate, Merged, and Merged by pack was probably confusing so I’ll be slowly updating all my mods to use a new structure.
• Starting with v1.0.1 the Separate download has been discontinued.
• Renamed the files to better reflect the mod name
• Now there are two downloads: Merged and ByPack.
  • Merged contains all objects in one file.
  • ByPack contains a TUNING file and one file per pack. You can pick and choose the packs you have/want (for this particular mod it’s functionally identical to Separate because there’s one object per pack, but I like consistency)
  • Each download also contains a file explaining this.
• Please delete your existing files and redownload one of the new zips because the renamed files won’t overwrite the old ones.

I finally figured out what I wanted to do for hand soap! It’s actually based on some existing functionality in the game: the soap dispenser upgrade that sinks can get.

The way these objects work is that you just place them near the sink and use the sink as normal. Sims will get a buff just like they do if the sink is upgraded with soap. There are no interactions on the objects themselves, so please don’t think they’re broken just because you can’t click on them.

These are overrides for EA items, giving them custom tuning. It also changes the sink_washHands and sink_washHands_OffTheGrid interactions so anything else that changes those or the objects themselves will conflict.

My Functional Shower Supplies mod has been updated to avoid a conflict so make sure you grab the NO version of the SE addon object if you’re using that mod and object.
