Decor with a Purpose: Functional Coat Racks

Jump to Patch notes

Not only does this give some objects a purpose, but it also lets you change your sim into and out of outerwear without going into a picker. Nothing fancy, just put on outerwear if you’re not wearing it and take it off (change into everyday) if you are.

This also gives a few mix and matched swatches to the basegame objects so you can hopefully match your builds a bit better.

This is a bit simpler than the version Zer0 put out but since I had already started on it when he released his I figured I’d just finish it anyway. If you want to check out a more in-depth mod instead of this I certainly don’t blame you: https://www.patreon.com/posts/bg-seasons-quick-54843303

These are overrides to the EA objects, giving them custom tuning. It shouldn’t conflict with anything unless you have something else that happens to modify these objects specifically, but please let me know if you have any problems with it.

Details

  • Basegame Coat Rack
  • Basegame Wall Coat Rack
  • Horse Ranch Wall Coat Rack NEW
  • Laundry Day Coat Shelf
  • Seasons Coat Shelf
  • Snowy Escape Wall Coat Rack
The new strings are in:
  • Chinese
  • English
  • French
  • Polish
  • Russian
I don't speak any languages nearly well enough to translate this myself so I welcome any translations that anyone can offer and will credit all translators.
  • Moonlikeruo - Chinese translation
  • Vanessa Sims - French translation
  • Mircul - Polish translation
  • SER_KISYAN - Russian translation
  • If you know of an item I missed let me know
  • Not exactly an issue since it's probably better from a time management perspective, but I can't get it to work with sims walking up to the objects. They'll change clothes wherever they currently are.

Patch Notes

  • Added new object from Horse Ranch
  • Added additional swatches to BG objects. Now instead of 3 swatches each, they have 9. Just a mix and match of the existing colors, but less limited.
  • Added Chinese translation from Moonlikeruo
  • Removed custom thumbnails to bring down file size and save myself some work going forward
  • Added French translation from Vanessa Sims
  • I realized that having Separate, Merged, and Merged by pack was probably confusing so I’ll be slowly updating all my mods to use a new structure.
  • So that means that starting with v1.1.2 the Separate download has been discontinued.
  • Renamed the files to better reflect the mod name
  • Now there are two downloads: Merged and ByPack. - Merged contains all objects in one file. - ByPack contains a TUNING file and one file per pack. You can pick and choose the packs you have/want - Each download also contains a file explaining this.
  • Please delete your existing files and redownload one of the new zips because the renamed files won’t overwrite the old ones.
  • Added Polish translation from Mircul
  • Changed how the merged folder is organized for ease of updates. If you install by merged pack you’ll now need to include a required tuning file. Please delete your old files to make sure no old code ends up overwriting the new. I’m going to organize the rest of my mods this way going forward and as I make updates. It’s better than having to do a bunch of merges just because I update one line in the tuning.
  • Added custom thumbnails so you can tell at a glance where they're from
  • Behind the scenes fix for my strings. You won’t actually see a change in game, but the old way risked conflicting with my own mods as well as others.
  • Brand new search functionality! I’m slowly adding hidden tags to my objects so you can find them by searching for “Ilex” (that’s an uppercase i at the beginning if you can’t tell). In English you can also search for “Coat” and have these come up.
  • Added Russian translations from SER_KISYAN
